From jazz to Testament's over-the-top metal, Alex needed one guitar that can cover both extremes with ease. That's why he worked so closely with ESP to design his original signature guitar, the AS-1. Now, many of Alex's favorite features and more have been incorporated into the LTD Alex Skolnick AS-1FR. Guitarists were impressed by the great control over string bends that stems from the extra jumbo frets, and they found the custom "U" neck contour is both substantial for chording and thin enough for speedy runs.

The look of this instrument says it all. It exudes elegance and class, but the sharper cutaway and more aggressive headstock design let you know that there's a searing metal machine lurking beneath the figured maple top.
